A Year of WeCreating Together

Dear Subscriber First Name,

It’s been quite a year for our ICN community.

As things change and we go through the ups and downs of life and evolution, I’m so grateful for this community and all of the folks like you who are seeking to live in a way that brings forth loving evolution in the world.

There are so many ways we do this: in our own lives, with our communities, and beyond. We are committed to becoming the people of the possible future we know is being gestated and born anew in this time.

As we grieve our losses, so too do we move in the glory of new becoming. Each and every day. Together.

From the mystical heart of God in our midst, much love and deep blessing to you and to all in this time of divine birth and sacred newness.

In each issue of The We-Creator we will introduce you to fellow we-creators—individuals and groups in our community who are a part of co-creating ICN with their time, talents, creativity, and financial support. We are deeply appreciative of all who participate in this beautiful WeCreating.

Community Spotlight:

WeSpace Nurturing Circle

The ICN Community is supported by a number of “Circles” or teams of folks who come together to do the WeCreating work of supporting and enacting the life of our community.

One of our essential circles is

The WeSpace Nurturing Circle

The WS Nurturing Circle is made up of two parts:

The WeSpace Starters - pictured above

The WS Starters, Toni LaMotta, Marcia Fleischman, and Helen Vickers, focus on supporting the start of new WeSpace groups. They welcome each new WeSpace group with guidance, teaching, and orientation as they begin the journey into WeSpace. You perhaps had one of them help start your group!

The WeSpace Nurturers - pictured below

The WS Nurturers, Carol Barton and Raynah Marie, focus on caring for the 40 ongoing WeSpace groups in our community. This part of the circle is recently reformed with Carol and Raynah, so they are beginning by meeting with WeSpace Guides and liaisons to learn more about our groups. Along with hosting our WeSpace Wisdom gatherings, they will be working to find ways to help support and resource our groups in ongoing growth and development.

Community Member Spotlight:

Dawne Taylor

I am Canadian, from Kamloops, British Columbia. Although raised in the United Church of Canada, I left the church after high school, pursuing education and then a career in Human Resources and Administrative Management. When my marriage was breaking up, and after a 15-year hiatus, I returned to the church of my childhood. At the same time, I read about and pursued courses and retreats in other faith traditions, including Catholicism, Buddhism and New Thought.

While meditating, I heard a voice distinctly telling me to attend theological college to become an ordained minister. Three years later, I finally answered the call and entered seminary, completing 2 Masters degrees. I subsequently served as a hospital chaplain for several years, and spent 16 years in pastoral ministry with United Churches in Alberta and British Columbia before retiring.

Upon retiring I discovered evolutionary spirituality (or rather it discovered me!), and contact with another seeker there eventually led me to ICN. I joined a WeSpace group in 2019, and that group is still together. ICN has become my spiritual home. I truly appreciate the diversity, wisdom and intellectual prowess of the community members. From Sunday gatherings to Co-Ex to WeSpace Groups to Spiritual Companioning Groups – all offer challenges, prodding, heart-felt exchanges, nurturance, and a safe place to be whoever we are. Thank you Luke and thank you to all the ICN community for meeting my longing and yearning for a spiritual community with so much depth.

Finance Circle Update

Christmas is days away and many of us are thinking about gifts – who do we still need to buy one for? which ones do we still need to wrap? where did we hide that gift we didn’t want a loved one to find?

The ICN Finance Circle members are doing those things, too, but we are also marveling as we consider all the gifts the ICN community has given to support ICN this year.

ICN has shown again what an incredibly generous community it is!!

We want to thank each of you for every way you have participated in WeCreating ICN this year. We are incredibly grateful!

Next year the ICN Board will be planning for ICN’s future as both an inspiring spiritual community with an audacious mission, “the loving evolution of Christianity and the world,” and as a healthy nonprofit. The generosity of our community will inspire the Board to plan with hope and confidence.

In its role for ICN, the Finance Circle addresses both spiritual and organizational concerns in its work. At this point in our development, the Finance Circle does need additional volunteer support. We are hoping there are people within ICN who have experience or interest in: financial analysis, fundraising, grant writing and prospecting, donor relations. If you are interested in WeCreating as a member of the Finance Circle, please contact Luke Healy.
