Being As Nature Divine
This week’s rhythm of loving evolution: Being
From the sacred beckoning of spirit and through our divine becoming, we welcome ways of being who we truly are in Christ.
Here and now, we offer and respond to invitations to inhabit our divine being in conscious and spacious ways.

If possible, you might find it supportive and stimulating to engage this offering from a place of nature. Even if you are unable to go into a forest, field, or yard, you could bring a plant nearby that you can touch and commune with throughout.
As a part of this invocation of being, there will be several videos with music and visuals throughout, so you’ll need an internet connection if you do go into nature.
We invite you to pause your reading and engage with them as part of the flow of this text, focusing on the visuals as well as the music. We might approach this as “a liturgy of being” to experience with our whole bodies.
A living experience of mind and soul, skin and senses, roots and branches.
In welcoming directly and intentionally the divine reality of our beloved community, we have in-corporated—unified-in-body—our communion with all people, with spirit guides and ancestors in non-physical form, and now with the whole of nature, the earth, and the cosmos.
Our being is communal. And the roots of our communion run deep.
While our intimacies and personal connections are selective, at the root of our being is the primordial, archaic source of life shared by all living things. This is an earth element, and even deeper, a universal one, of which we all have arisen from unified origin. Though the branches extend far and wide, the deepest taproots of our being are linked to one Source, one Origin.
This is not just a reality of the past, from long ago and distant to our lived, everyday experience. This is our deepest structure of consciousness as humans, though it is mostly below the surface, preverbal and even underneath feeling. We sense it differently than our other ways of knowing, even before intuition.
In this movement over the last weeks, we have entered more deeply into our experience of this through the divine feminine and in particular our connection to nature.
Now, in our deep being, we re-member our shared nature as nature.
It is not so much that we go outside to connect with nature and the earth as an external object to which we relate, but rather an intentional welcoming, a surfacing of nature being us.
“We are not humans on the earth. We are the earth human-ing” as ICNer Tom Amsberry recently put it.
We are the earth being human, the cosmos being human.
Our relation to the earth is not one of subject to object, but an intra-relationality of parts amidst a common being. A communal being.
And lest we forget as well, our being is divine. The roots of our natural being flow with the Christ Energy, the charge of Shakti.
The divine did not enter from the outside, but has been intrinsically ever-involved. Fundamentally interwoven. And ever-life-giving in the midst of the deepest substance of things. And not just with humanity, but with the whole of the vast cosmic, material universe. In every grain of sand, blade of grass, and strand of hair.
The priest and theologian Raimon Panikkar referred to this reality of being as Cosmotheandrism.
“The cosmotheandric intuition is the totally integrated vision of the seamless fabric of the entire reality… the undivided consciousness of the totality”…[where] "divinity, humanity, and cosmos exist in a unified reality.”
"There is no matter without spirit and no spirit without matter, no World without Man, no God without the universe."
Panikkar’s describes this reality of being as what is best symbolized by the term, “Christ.”
Evolution must necessarily recontextualize much previous Christian theology in this way. And many recent writers have done so, including Panikkar, Teilhard de Chardin, Beatrice Bruteau, Ilia Delio, Denis Edwards, Paul Smith, and more.
For some, this greater mental understanding helps open the mind to be released into the knowing of our body. For this being is something we can only really and truly know with the soles of our feet, the brush of our fingertips, the marrow of our bones.
We can know it in nature. As nature.
We can know it with one another. As communion.
We can know it by God in all things. As God-Being-Us.
All of us.
Material. Human. Divine.
We are.
“But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you…
In Whose hand is the breath of each living thing,
the spirit of all human flesh.”
Job 12:7-10
Nature Sings with Joy from the Earth
Let heaven and nature sing, repeating the sounding joy of wonderous love imbued and arising in the whole of creation.
In all being, as nature.
Our Lady Christ the Earth
singing with joy
from the divine world.
The earth is held in the great womb of God and is gestating into a new becoming. Our Lady of Christ the Earth is alive and well. And while she weeps for all that is destroyed and desecrated, she is also charged with the greater joy and bliss of the divine present that runs deeper than what we can now see. Her vision is grand and great, and she sees far beyond what we can even imagine.
She not only sees it, but is the creative and enactive spirit at work within us and the world to bring it about. She reveals herself from within, arising in nature—in us—with the charge and energy of divine vitality.
This is a grounded and embodied blissful joy. An enlivened ecstasy that vibrates through the marrow of our bones. It doesn’t come from an external circumstance or situation. Rather, it abides in the deepest substance of our physical nature.

It is a hearty and steady joy, substantive and solid. It is less from what we see outside us than what we feel permeated in the strata of our soma.
The joy we are being invited into from within the womb of the Divine Mother is rooted in Mother Earth. Expressed in the play of creation and the overflowing abundance of nature. Sourced from deep time and woven throughout the cosmic cycles of life: birth and death, fading and blooming, joining and separating, grief and glory.
That joy may be made complete, full and overflowing.
The fullness of joy flowing from the depths of our divine fullness. From the innate power and cosmic force of divine life arising into being in us; God-Being-Us birthed in unending and unyielding ways.
In the form of you and me—and many others.
In the new life of the earth.
Let heaven and nature sing, repeating the sounding joy of wonderous love imbued and arising in the whole of creation.
In all being, as nature.
