Inspired Being

This week’s rhythm of loving evolution: Being

From the sacred beckoning of spirit and through our divine becoming, we welcome ways of being who we truly are in Christ.

Here and now, we offer and respond to invitations to inhabit our divine being in conscious and spacious ways.

We make space for being who we are becoming, who we truly are, who we are now.

We rest in abiding within our holy communion, our Christ union with all things.

And we open up to new and deepening habits, the in-habiting of new ways of being that authentically reflect the beauty, truth, and goodness of who we have become in our transformative work and in the grace of the mystical body of Christ.

If you haven’t yet engaged with the Beckoning & Becoming offerings, we encourage you to explore those first:

Living from the Fountain of Life

From the beckoning of our invitation to live in the flow of spiritual inspiration, we have moved with the shifts and stages of creative becoming, embodying our divine agency and inhabiting our deep inspiration.

We often think of inspiration as something that comes upon us in a moment of revelation, like a sudden spark. The divine inspiration we might inhabit more fully here is rather like a deep well. It is a constant and ever-present source. It never runs dry, even if at times it may feel like just the slightest trickle.

Rather than seeking episodic flashes of inspiration—which may still come at times with greater intensity—we might find that in the deepest well of our being is an eternal fountain of life.

And from this wellspring flows rivers of living water.

To drink of this well, to share this water, to give of this sacred libation is to live in the natural inflow, interflow, and outflow of our true being, which is love. This is the groundswell of divine inspiration which floods our entire being. For it is even making us who we are.

“God irrupts in the center of your being, as that fountain of living water that makes you to be.”

— BEATRICE BRUTEAU

As we live in the constancy of divine vitality as the deep well of the ever-present energy of God at the ground of our being, we can open to divine inspiration as the flow of that living water coming into our lives like a “sacred libation.”

Beatrice Bruteau calls this pouring out “spondic,” because it is free-flowing. It has no end and will never run dry. It is the indwelling source of divine love, which can truly be our deepest source of inspiration at any and all times. For it is of our very own being, at our core and center.

Here and now, as you tap into this well within, what do you sense?

Do you find yourself…
drinking this water?
searching for it?
desiring to share it?
being flooded in your entire being?

What is the felt-sense in your body from this source?

Do you find…
deep stillness?
gentle flowing?
rushing torrents?
something else?

We come to this fount not alone. We gather round the well and share of this water. We tell of the longings of our heart and soul. We share the stories of inspired enaction of which we have seen and heard tell.

In this communion of the flow of inspiration, we intensify. We grow. We swell. We draw upon and share in deep currents and the many tributaries.

We might even feel the shared pool among us as a communal baptismal font of in-spiring holy spirit, which is also of the great river of life, flowing from the vast basin reservoir of eternal living water.

And at times, we might even irrupt like a great geyser of love, spraying and offering this living water far and wide.

Where do we find the spouts, the springs, the places in our lives where this living water emerges?

Now, from the well of your inspired being, how might you be drawn to live more fully from this deep source?

How can you seek to integrate and welcome this flow more in your life, in the day-to-day moments, or in a specific area that needs this living water?

Is there an intention or commitment of being you are inspired to set here and now?

We hold all of these rhythms of being in the field of belonging.

In support of our rhythms of evolution—Beckoning, Becoming, and Being—you are also invited to participate in a gathering called WeEvolve, on Fridays at 10 am Central Time.

This week’s WeEvolve gathering will be a spacious, communal time of Being together.
