Being in Trust with One Another

This week’s rhythm of loving evolution: Being

From the sacred beckoning of spirit and through our divine becoming, we welcome ways of being who we truly are in Christ.

If you haven’t yet engaged with the Beckoning & Becoming offerings, we encourage you to explore those first:

As we have moved with the beckoning into holistic trust with “the other,” and taken steps of becoming into trust with ourselves and others, we can come more and more into the ways of being where trust is the ground upon which we walk, the intrinsic pattern underneath, and the woven fabric of our lives in beloved community—our communal being.

This way of being in/as trust can only be inhabited, not simply thought about. It can only be walked, not drawn on a map. It has to be embodied in presence here and now rather than idealized in the abstract. And it only exists in the shared presence of communion.

Our fundamental oneness with all things and participation in the vast divine web of interconnection and interbeing only takes real substance in our lives through direct, lived relational presence.

Until we truly step more fully into a living, breathing community of messy humans, our ideas and ideals of trust will be just that—nice-sounding fantasies.

We inhabit trust in the relational space by committing ourselves to live in trust with one another. This is a devotional act, deliberately shifting our orientation further beyond self-referentialism. Community as more than what “I” get out of it, how my needs are met, what serves me, etc.

We begin to discover holistic trust in the we. From the we. Because this is where Christ dwells, through our shared presence itself, made up of the space between us and the collective selves/cells constituting the communal life of the We itself. God-Being-All-of-us-together.

Where two or three are gathered, there I am in their midst.

The devotional component of this is giving ourselves to inhabit the space of trust even when it gets hard, when we want to turn away, to not stay with. To suffer the breaking open, together, and keep walking with trust into who we truly are.

We will only find the capacity and energy to live in this deep mutuality when we are coming from the place of holistic trust. When we are taking the steps of trust together, one step at a time. When we are coming again and again into the meeting points in the place of our deepest being, the ground of trust seeded with vulnerability, nurtured with healthy boundaries, and grown in the field of love—where we are not separate, where there is no “other,” where ultimate wholeness becomes the very ground of trust we walk forth from into our lives, into the world.

As we can only do this in actual community, this week, we invite you to inhabit your communal being by living into beloved community.

Below are several invitations into places of showing up from trust, together.

Whether in these gatherings of community in ICN, others, or different places of relational trust, where might you be invited to move more into the living, breathing, relational spaces of trust in your life?

Inhabiting Trust in Any and All Communities

As we walk forth from the ground of trust, we of course inhabit our presence from trust beyond the communal spaces of ICN.

Where are you being invited to show up, from the ground of trust, with others in your life?

What relationships and communities are part of your communal being?

How is trust drawing you deeper and more fully into presence in living community?

Immersing in Being with these realities, these images from the Beckoning may help you strengthen and further inhabit holistic trust.

We are weaving our lives.
