Constellations of Consciousness – IntraBeing

This week’s rhythm of loving evolution: Being

From the sacred beckoning of spirit and through our divine becoming, we welcome ways of being who we truly are in Christ.

If you haven’t yet engaged with the Beckoning & Becoming offerings, we encourage you to explore those first:

As a part of this invocation of intrabeing, there will be several videos with music and visuals throughout. We invite you to pause your reading and engage with them as part of the flow of this invitation.

The text written below is only one component of this week’s offering. As this is most likely a somewhat challenging experience to enter into,
deep focus and receptivity to the music and visuals may greatly support our opening into a felt sense of this reality.

Here, now, we enter this “liturgy of being”
with all of our structures of consciousness present,
with our whole bodies,
with our whole, communal being.

Our being is not singular. We are not solo individuals navigating the vast terrain of existence as separate, disparate souls.

In more of the truth of our being, we come into the communion of beloved community, which comes to be more and more as we grow in capacity for connectedness and enter into the depths of spiritual intimacy together. Here, in our interconnectedness, we come to live into our interbeing—we are not separate, but deeply interrelated, interdependent, and all part of one great, shared living system.

To come fully into the living dynamism of communion in union, we also can go one step further, which is into the reality of our intrabeing. This is the shared inner experience of being, not between two separate entities, but as a multi-subjective sense of one shared, encompassing reality. A mutual interiority.

This is often a challenging re-orientation. We need more than just a “thinking” acceptance of this reality. We need a multi-structural consciousness calibration, tapping into our deeper ways of knowing and being. Re-membering our way of being before separation. And, we seek not just to remember, but reinhabit more consciously an integrated sense of the truer reality of our multi-faceted participation in the We, as an I, in the All.

Again, living metaphors can help us here—which go beyond symbols and invite us through a portal of perception, an entryway into a deeper way of being, crossing the threshold of our singular, limited perspective.

In exploring our communal body and seeking to come into more of our intersubjective experience of intrabeing, we have primarily evoked the metaphors of The Body of Christ and a Living Ecosystem.

Now, in this liturgy of intrabeing, we move through the following written, visual, and auditory portals into further inhabiting dynamics of this deeper reality of not just who, but what we truly are. So much more than ourselves alone.

“As a stewardship of the fullness of time,
to gather up in one,
all things in heaven and on earth,
among Christ.”

Ephesians 1:10 (my translation)

Constellations of Consciousness

We exist not as solo, separate stars in the sky, spread across vast distances.
We are part of a great constellation of consciousness.

Seen from a certain point of view,
Great Bear, Southern Fish, Little Fox, The Queen.

And what great shapes of being is this planet a part of making?
Seen from another point of viewing.

What constellations glimmer from your glorious being
when you join in heart and mind with other stars
when you let yourself be encompassed
making together, something more?
Seen from a future stargazer.

Cells of a Body

Are you willing to be a cell in a body?

Intrabeing is not simply a group having a shared experience, but a collective of “cells” existing as a shared reality of being that isn’t even dependent on any singular awareness or recognition. We are within a “larger” body of being whether we know it or not.

This is a tricky thing for our minds to accept, so locked into our singular, mental point of reference as we are. Are we able to give up the throne of perhaps our most defended self-referentialism: the rule of our singular perspective?

This is not giving up the “I” and the importance of our precious personhood. It is not blending or dissolving, or surrendering to a hive-mind singular consciousness. Every cell matters. Every cell makes up the whole.

But like cancerous cells fighting against the body of which it is, ignoring the body’s signals and refusing to take their proper place and role, we delude ourselves in thinking we are the whole thing in and of ourselves. This delusion causes us to seal off, enclose around separation, and reinforce the loss of our connection to the greater whole.

Rather, what if we make up a different sort of organism than we have ever encountered before?

Of course, it would be hard to recognize from the inside. It would be impossible to see the full organ we are contained in, let alone the entire body, from our own point of view.

A moment or experience of transcendence can help us recognize this larger body, to see from “outside” it as we never have before. But then, to live within it, as cells are meant to be, we inhabit with trust our place, our function, our gift to the body.

We can even do this if we haven’t “seen.”

We generally call that faith.

But this is not blind faith, for we are suffused in this living body. We can feel more deeply into the fullness of our embodied reality. Not by trying to be bigger than or beyond what we are, but by opening to our dynamic participation in the body’s movements and energies that are beyond our control, beyond our seeing, beyond our limited awareness itself. With greater permeability, we can receive more fully from the larger body we are.

And the only way we can do that is if we trust in the reality of the larger body. We let ourselves simply be a cell—a vital, important, necessary cell, yes. But oh so small compared to the greater whole.

Sometimes we call that humility.

And—rather than a denigration of our importance—our humility is also audacious. Because who we are, what we are, is the body of God itself. This larger being is God-Beyond-Us, not as a distant, separate reality, but the far greater encompassing and in-bodying of divine being we are, together.

"All know that the drop merges into the ocean,
but few know that the ocean merges into the drop."

– Kabir

“Let this mind be in you, which is also in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 2:5

The Mind of Christ (Consciousness)

This larger body is held, seen, and known fully only by the mind of Christ.

Graciously, this mind is not kept apart from us, thank God. It is offered to us: let this mind be in you.

How do we receive such a mind?

We do not put on the mind of Christ like a big hat over our own head.
Nor do we even “have” this mind like a personal possession.

Rather, there is a whole-body knowing we can receive from this greater consciousness. And now we know only in part.

It is not ever anything we can fully be or know in our individuality.
Christ consciousness can never be held in fullness by any single person.

It is a communal reality that exists only in the larger body of Christ—of which we live, move, and have our being. Our intrabeing, together.

The mind of Christ consciousness is not a galaxy brain, but a participation in the greater wisdom and knowing beyond what we can ever contain or comprehend.

In this great mystery, we are.

Can we even release our singular awareness as the totality of knowing in our being?

Can we let go of the personal seat of awareness as the ultimate locus of our reality?

If so, we find a far greater awareness and a much deeper knowing.

One dynamic of this way of knowing is sometimes referred to as “channeling,” but in a broader sense it is a movement of simply connecting to the larger synapses coming from the mind of Christ. And we can receive through many channels. Sometimes these are personal, from Jesus or other spirit guides. Other times we will receive, in trust, wisdom from some more mysterious “beyond” that we do not self-generate, that does not come from the personal store of information we have accumulated and learned in our lifetime. This can feel like it arrives from above, or from deep within. Other times, in comes through another “cell” entirely.

Again, this is a step of faith, to go beyond our own mind,
Into the mind of Christ
as a communal reality
and a living dynamic
of our intrabeing
with all of divine reality
our great communion
with all.

This may very well be the evolutionary cusp of the new consciousness we desperately need to see emerge in this time. And, rather than simply waiting and hoping, we can actively participate in the receptivity and cultivation of this evolving consciousness in us.

It is here now. It is all around us—and within us already. We are within it. Within us all.

This dynamic of being and active structure of consciousness is, in this time now, irrupting into awareness in various ways and forms. Amidst a number of communities and “individuals” who are awakening to the mind of Christ consciousness.

So shall we be one,
that we may be All,
that we may be who we truly are,
who we are meant to be,
in each and every precious and particular form,
making a greater whole,
the body of Christ.
